Oat Mama Lactation Granola Bars

It’s no secret that I’m a nursing mom, and I’m always on the lookout for recipes that help boost lactation. I make lactation granola bars and energy bites regularly because not only are they good for maintaining my milk supply, they are a delicious, sweet treat that I don’t have to feel guilty about. I know a lot of other people out there are also looking for something similar, because my lactation granola bars recipe is one of the most popular recipes on my blog!

I’m excited to tell you today about a new company that makes dynamite lactation granola bars. Oat Mama is a partnership of two mom-friends who decided to share their passion for cooking and breastfeeding with others through their lactation granola bars. There’s so much to love about these Oat Mama bars! First of all, they are created by real moms for other moms out there just like them. Second, there are tons of “real” ingredients in them – no additives or preservatives here. You can pronounce every ingredient on the label. And all of these ingredients are thoughtfully and purposefully included to boost lactation. What I also find fantastic, is that Oat Mama bars are allergy friendly. I am personally dealing with a dairy free diet for nursing purposes (for the second time) and many nursing mamas have babies with certain food intolerances or allergies. Oat Mama’s Nut + Berry bars and Lemon Chia bars do not contain dairy, egg, soy, or wheat! In addition, they can make their Chocolate Almond Coconut bar dairy-free for you upon request. How great is that?! All of their ingredients are gluten free, and they also offer vegan versions of their bars. There truly is something for everyone.

What’s also helpful and very interesting is the Oat Mama website explains specifically how each ingredient included in their recipes plays a role in lactation. For example, oats are full of fiber and iron; flax seeds bring Omega-3s, fiber, and calcium to the party; and Brewer’s Yeast is packed with B vitamins and protein. Head on over to their website to find out more about all of the delicious ingredients!

Now, let’s get to the most important thing. How do they taste? I was lucky enough to receive a Nut + Berry bar to sample from the lovely ladies at Oat Mama, and I have to say, it was really delicious! It was chewy and sweet with lots of dried fruit and nuts. They didn’t skimp on the good stuff, and the portion was very generous! It was a filling, satisfying, guilt-free snack. Give them a try! Here’s a hint too, if you like them on Facebook, they sometimes run promotional discounts! 🙂
